Jesal Parikh
Jesal walked into her first yoga class with a lot of stress and no athletic ability whatsoever. So it only makes sense that after deciding to become a yoga teacher, her mission would be to make yoga more accessible to all varieties of different bodies. She started her business, Yogawalla NYC, in order to do just that. To teach yoga in a way that makes sense for modern bodies in modern life.
But after building a successful teaching business, Jesal still wasn’t sure how to teach to that one pregnant woman who walked into her group classes. Enter Maha Mama. Though she initially completed her prenatal training with Maha Mama so she could feel confident teaching yoga to her pregnant friends and students, she had no idea that the training would kick-start a new world of female empowerment.
In the spirit of that empowerment, Jesal is thrilled to now be a part of Maha Mama’s teaching staff, sharing her years of asana, anatomy and biomechanics studies with yoga teachers and all others who are looking to support expecting and new mothers in navigating their changing bodies.
